Lindsey Vollans

With over 25 years of governance experience and a strong background in educational leadership, I bring both strategic and operational expertise to my role. Previously a colleague of Michael McCarthy, I am passionate about supporting the work of fellow CEOs in improving life chances for all.
As a former Executive Headteacher and now CEO of a Multi Academy Trust (MAT), I have held dual strategic and operational leadership roles, overseeing the overall performance, vision, and direction of the trust. I manage multiple schools to ensure high standards in teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes.
In my role as CEO, I lead long-term strategic planning, work closely with the Trust Board and senior leaders to drive school improvement, allocate resources effectively, and uphold educational and ethical standards. I also represent the trust externally, build partnerships, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
Additionally, I serve as Strategic Lead for one of the DfE’s 34 English Hubs, supporting schools across the North East to enhance the teaching of reading and improve pupil outcomes.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and all forms of literacy, including reading, theatre, and film.
