  • Moorside High School Year 10 Football Team Crowned Greater Manchester Plate Champions

Moorside High School Year 10 football team have been crowned Greater Manchester Plate Champions following a superb 4–0 victory over Coop Academy Walkden in the final on Wednesday 3 June 2026.

The team enjoyed an excellent run to the final, beating West Hill, Cheadle Hulme High School, Crompton House, Our Lady’s RC High School and Ashton-on-Mersey School along the way.

In the final, Moorside took control early, with Musa reacting quickest to open the scoring after Oliver’s effort was saved. George added a second before half-time with a composed finish to give Moorside a 2–0 lead.

The second half saw further goals, with Musa adding his second after a clever assist from Eddie, before George completed the scoring following a well-worked move involving Ralph and Musa to seal an emphatic win.
