  • National Apprenticeship Week 9th - 13th February 2026

We celebrated National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) across the Trust with a range of activities designed to inspire and inform students about apprenticeship opportunities and future career pathways.

    Highlights included:

    • Year 7: Channel 4 workshops, Monday ADA session and a lunchtime pop-up stall.

    • Year 8: Assembly from Woolgar Hunter, sharing experiences as a degree apprentice, alongside a pop-up stall.

    • Year 9: ADA session and lunchtime pop-up stall.

    • Year 10: GM Higher assembly and pop-up stall, as well as an additional assembly from Rachel McCready (TVLPN).

    • Year 11: Apprenticeship sign-up session via GOV.UK delivered with The Growth Company.

Students also took part in a wide range of workshops and interactive sessions, including:

    • GM Higher workshops on higher education pathways and apprenticeships.

    • Careers workshops delivered by Prime Law.

    • A mental health workshop and live Q&A session led by Tom Smith.

    • Careers Café sessions with The RRG Group, The Learning Curve, Thereme, The Growth Company, and Bury FC apprenticeships in football.

“The week has provided students with meaningful exposure to the breadth of apprenticeship opportunities available and has encouraged them to consider the wide range of pathways open to them beyond school.”

Kate Aitken - Assistant Principal, Moorside High School

Students were also given the opportunity to tour the local Nissan plant, gaining valuable insight into the workplace, understanding apprenticeship routes, and seeing firsthand the scale and expertise involved in industry.

It has been a fantastic week, providing students with meaningful insight into the wide range of apprenticeship opportunities available and supporting them in planning their future career pathways.

"We are incredibly grateful to our partners who have supported out learners in inspiring them to think ambitiously about their futures".

Katie Parkinson - Assistant Principal, Ellesmere Park High School

Thank you to all the staff members across the Trust for organising these opportunities for our students!
