Students from Armthorpe Academy in Doncaster, part of Consilium Academies, have returned from an unforgettable Ski Trip 2026 to Pila in the stunning Aosta Valley.
Now in its second consecutive year, the trip saw 42 students and five members of staff enjoy five days of skiing alongside a full programme of après-ski activities, offering students the opportunity to develop new skills, build confidence and create lasting memories.
Throughout the week, students demonstrated outstanding progress on the slopes, with many advancing rapidly in both ability and confidence. Staff praised the group’s determination, resilience and willingness to challenge themselves in a completely new environment.

Jonny Dwyer, Head of PE at Armthorpe Academy, said:
“It was an amazing week in Italy. The progress shown by students on the slopes was outstanding. Their behaviour was impeccable throughout, and they represented the academy fantastically. They made us all incredibly proud.”
Beyond the skiing, students embraced the cultural experience of visiting Italy, strengthening friendships and developing independence. The combination of physical challenge, teamwork and shared experiences made the trip a resounding success.
Armthorpe Academy continues to provide enriching opportunities beyond the classroom, ensuring students benefit from experiences that broaden horizons and support personal development.
