We recently welcomed two of the North’s most exciting young artists, 6Baby and Aya Bleu, for an inspiring and impactful session with Year 7 and Year 8 students that left a lasting impression.
Organised in collaboration with The Prime Agency, the visit formed part of a wider initiative to connect young people with authentic role models through music, conversation, and shared experiences. The sessions focused on issues such as knife crime, gang culture, and discrimination - topics both artists have personal experience with, making their messages all the more powerful.
6Baby, a fast-rising name in the UK rap scene known for his melodic heartbreak sound and recent studio collaboration with Stormzy, captivated the students with his story and music. Aya Bleu, a gifted Manchester-based vocalist trained at BIMM Manchester and Trafford Music Base, has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and brought soulful, resonant energy to the day.
Their combined performance and discussion struck a chord with the students, who were fully engaged throughout. Many described the visit as "inspiring" and "eye-opening," with strong feedback on how relatable and real both artists felt.
“We’re incredibly proud to have hosted 6Baby and Aya Bleu,” said Matthew Connolly, Associate Assistant Headteacher. “The sessions were tailored perfectly to our Year 7 and 8 students, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The artists were not only talented but also deeply authentic in how they connected with our young people.”
The event was a powerful example of how music and real-life storytelling can educate, empower, and resonate with the next generation.
