Year 7 Students at Ellesmere Park High School Celebrate National Writing Success

Year 7 students at Ellesmere Park High School have been celebrating a fantastic achievement after taking part in a national Young Writers competition, showcasing their creativity, imagination and developing writing skills.

The competition invited students to produce original written pieces in response to a national brief, giving young writers the opportunity to have their work recognised and published on a wider stage. Students at Ellesmere Park responded with enthusiasm and commitment, producing a wide range of creative and thoughtful entries.

An impressive 82 students from Year 7 had their work successfully selected for publication, reflecting the exceptionally high standard of writing across the year group. Their published pieces demonstrate not only strong technical ability, but also creativity, voice and confidence—particularly notable at such an early stage in their secondary education.

Staff praised the students for their effort and engagement throughout the process, highlighting the way they embraced the opportunity to take part in a national initiative and challenge themselves as writers.

This success is a testament to the culture of aspiration and high expectations within the school, as well as the encouragement provided by staff to help students develop a love of writing and storytelling.

A huge well done is extended to all students involved for their fantastic effort, achievement, and contribution to a national competition. Their success is something the whole school community can be proud of, and a strong foundation for future creative and academic achievements.
