During British Science Week, Thornhill Academy students from years 8 and 9 completed a 12-week STEM project designing a sustainable school for an island setting.
Students researched eco-friendly materials, planned renewable energy systems, built a detailed model, and presented their findings through reports and slides, guided by their teacher and virtual STEM mentors.
Science Teacher Favour Osawemwenze said, “It’s inspiring to see our students tackle real-world challenges and develop innovative ideas for a sustainable future.” The project highlights Thornhill Academy’s commitment to creativity, teamwork, and environmental responsibility.
