Moorside High School joined schools across the Trust in recognising Children’s Mental Health Week, highlighting the importance of wellbeing and encouraging open conversations around mental health. Children’s Mental Health Week is an annual event that raises awareness of young people’s mental health, encouraging schools, families, and communities to support wellbeing and start open conversations about emotional health.
Students took part in a range of activities, including assemblies delivered by Kooth featuring the spoken-word performance Puffer Jacket Poetry, which encouraged students to reflect on their emotions and how to express their thoughts in a safe and meaningful way.
A Wellbeing House Heroes competition also celebrated simple acts of kindness, while a lunchtime pop-up stall provided information on the mental health support available to students.
As part of the week, students also enjoyed the popular Cake and Kindness event, sharing positive messages and spending time together, reinforcing Moorside’s supportive and inclusive school
